Altaran

These people have medium skin tone and are of average height. Dark hair
and almost black eyes are predomanant. Most women wear their hair to
their shoulders or shorter. Many men wear square cut beards with long
moustaches.

Men dress in long, bright colored vests, many times with no shirt. The
shirts they do wear have long pleated sleeves. Women wear pale dresses
with deep and narrow necklines. Their skirts are gathered up to the knee
on one side to expose brightly-coloured petticoats. Married women wear
marriage knives around their necks to use against their husbands when
their husbands displease them.

Altarans show little (if any allegance to their country). They owe more
to the local lord or lady of thier town. In fact, they see themselves as
the people of thier local lord or lady first, and as Altaran second.
