Shienaran

The Borderland country that lays the farthest to the east, and lays north
of Cairhein and east of Arafel is Shienar. The men are characterized (the
warriors at least) by shaved heads save for a top-knot. They are a hard
working people who live in the shadow of the Blight. The people of
Shienar and other Borderland countries are usually too busy fighting back
the Blight to fight each other. There are often raids upon the outlying
villages from the creatures of the blight. There is always something to
defend. It is a way of life for the Shienarans. The Shienarans were not
the furthest country to the north. Once Malkier stood with its banners
bearing the seven golden towers, but a generation ago Malkier fell to the
Blight and now Shienar stands alone. "Peace favor your sword" is a common
greeting in Shienar.
